![]() ![]() We returned the next day, and our room hadn't been cleaned. The F&B were kind enough to switch it out for a bottle of something more "manly" for his birthday. That night, we returned to our room, and there was a bottle of LaMarca prosecco and a "Happy Birthday" card. She promised me it would be, and refunded one night of points to my account. I said that all I wanted was my room cleaned by noon the next day. She offered to "do something" for my partner's birthday, and I told her I appreciated it, but that I would rather not have an expectation and then be disappointed again. She admitted that none of the issues I'd experienced were things that their hotel should drop the ball on. I told her employees kept telling me "everywhere in Key West is like this." I emphasized to her that everywhere we went outside of the hotel, we had wonderful service, from our Uber drivers, in restaurants, on our charters, etc. Do not offer something and then say it's unavailable. Management reached out to see how I was doing as a Diamond member, and I let them know I was disappointed, and it was more an issue of communication. I told her our requests for toiletries/linens, and she told me, "No shampoo." When she cleaned, she didn't put away the ironing board. When I called about this, I was told they do not offer scheduled times, despite what I had been told earlier. We got back to the room, at 12:45, and it hadn't been cleaned. I also requested extra towels/toiletries, since we would be taking 2-3 showers per day. Via the app, I requested our room be cleaned by noon each day, as we had morning activities, and wanted to come shower/relax. ![]() Had to go back to front desk to get one, and then was scrambling to get ready on time for our evening plans. I got ready to take a shower before we went out for the evening and discovered there was no shampoo. I had requested 10 hangers with no clips, and received 8, four with clips. I went down to the front desk to request them, ask for the phone to be repaired, and report that the bathroom light was "strobing." They told me that you're supposed to hit "0" rather than the buttons, even though nothing says that on the phone.Īfter exploring the town a bit, we went back to the room to find that the light was still strobing. I attempted to call housekeeping for more hangers, but none of the department buttons were functioning. She did manage to assist me with a couple of items, which I appreciated. She later forwarded me the email thread showing that it wasn't actually sent to the concierge staff until a week after I initially sent it. I finally heard from the concierge the day I was checking in while I was on the flight. They said they were "completely full," even though I could go into the app and book rooms at the moment. A bit disappointing as a Diamond, but not unexpected. Of course, because I was staying on points, I got a small room with two doubles overlooking the parking lot. I’m fine booking everything myself, but figured everyone in service industry has been hurting the past year, and was willing to book through/tip the concierge, even if rates were higher.Ĭan anyone offer a personal perspective on this?įirst off, things were reasonably clean. That said, I hate spending Waldorf dollars on a Hampton Inn experience. We’re pretty low key, but we like to splurge on vacation. Concierge emailed me an introduction yesterday, and referred to herself as my “personal concierge.” I emailed her back about 5:30 this morning with several questions and a couple of booking requests, and I received no response. Trying to decide if this is pandemic influenced - Waldorf-Astoria level guests and elites are salty about reduced services and benefits - or truly a dump. ![]() I can deal with ”worn” and “toiletries aren’t high end,” but mold erupting from irons (mentioned in multiple reviews in varying colors), and gigantic cockroaches make me worry that our first post-vaccinated travel will be more stressful than staying at home. However, when reading recent reviews, they were overwhelmingly abysmal. A good friend owned a bar in KW years ago, and always stayed at Casa Marina. booked a stay here for next week - first trip in 15 months. ![]()
